Have you ever wanted to make a film? You have all these ideas floating around in your head, but you can’t present it in a way that your dog Fifi can understand. Fifi’s a visual learner! What do you do? Fear not, for Storyboarding 101 will teach you the skills needed to visualize your ideas through storyboarding, the art of telling a story through sequential images. You’ll learn about composition, staging, choosing the right shot, camera moves, and so so so much more. In this class, students will learn the individual principles of storyboarding, apply them to exercises in the class, and critically explore why and how visual storytelling works in some of our favorite stories. By the end, students will have an intermediate knowledge of storyboarding and be able to clearly pitch your own storyboards to Fifi, and this time, she’ll get it!
All of our youth offerings are registered through our partners at Nebraska 4-H.
