Explore the little known 100+ years of African American filmmaking. From Oscar Micheaux, the Patron Saint of Independent Film, to the Blaxploitation era, to modern masters such as Spike Lee, Ava Duvernay, and Barry Jenkins, you’ll learn how African American film reflected and influenced the times they were produced. NOTE: This class will require time outside of class to screen films
